Athletic trainers are not delivering comprehensive interventions to most effectively manage mobility impairments in overhead athletes. Athletic trainers need current knowledge and skills to appropriately integrate manual therapy and exercise in order to safely restore mobility in athletes. Laurie Lee Devaney, PT, ATC, PhD

Laurie Lee Devaney is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Kinesiology Physical Therapy Program at the University of Connecticut. Devaney has over 22 years of clinical orthopedic physical therapy experience and has presented on both the state and national level on various orthopedic topics. She is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist and NATA Certified Athletic Trainer. She earned Manual Therapy Certification from the Institute of Physical Therapy and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, where she serves as Chair of the Professional Development Committee.
